Happy Thursday, Friends!
I am definitely dragging today! I’m not sure why, but lately, I have been having bouts of insomnia. I will go to be around 11pm or a little after and wake up between 2 and 2:30am, wide awake, ready to start my day.
Well, I guess I shouldn’t say ‘ready to start my day’ because all I really want to do is roll over and get those last couple hours of sleep before my alarm goes off. However, my brain just won’t let me do that.
Normally, I am one that will fall asleep and, because I’m so tired, just crash really hard and not wake up until my alarm is going off in the morning. It’s very rare for me to wake up in the middle of the night, and if I do, I fall right back to sleep within minutes. This week, however, has been a completely different story.
I have woken up for the past three night and have just laid in bed, tossing and turning, staring at the ceiling, and praying that I will fall back to sleep. I know it’s my brain that prevents me from doing so.
I think about work.
I think about money.
I think about work a little bit more.

I can confidently say that ‘work’ is the main reason for my recent stress and, therefore, the reason for my sleepless nights. Things have changed drastically in the past couple of months and I just don’t think I’ve settled into dealing with more responsibility and having people ‘under’ me. Not that I am in any way a boss of any type, but I am basically the office manager and the one that now has to keep things flowing and working effortlessly everyday. I’m very grateful that I am trusted enough to be given the responsibility, but I am a chronic worrier and over-think things a lot. So…
More responsibility = More to worry about
Hopefully, soon, I settle in and feel confident about what I’m doing. Hopefully, soon, I can snuggle into bed and stay in dreamland and leave work at work. Sigh.
Sorry for such a downer post on a Thursday. Thursday are supposed to be fun!! I hope you all enjoy your day and wind down for the weekend!
Do you ever experience insomnia? If so, what usually causes it?
Anything fun going on in your life? Brighten my day!
