Countdown: 3 months.

Posted Feb 09 2009 12:00am

Today is exactly 3 months away from my wedding day.

3 months.

89 days.

It feels like eternity.

At the same time, things are really starting to fall together. This weekend we went to Indianapolis and got Casey's wedding suit, as well as Tina's mother-of-the-groom dress - a huge success! They are both going to look fabulous, and it was a lot of fun to go shopping all together.

We've booked our honeymoon, so that's another check off the list. I've found all my accessories and the bridesmaids' accessories, and I'm reaaaally excited about all of those. Basically I just love shoes, jewelry, and dresses, so naturally those have been the most fun decisions to make!

Last night we had dinner at my mom's house and finally figured out what we're doing for table decorations. I think they will be fun and different, and I'm looking forward to seeing how they all turn out.

We're meeting with our caterer on Saturday to finalize our menu, and once we've done that, we can move forward with dinnerware and linen rentals (or purchases - whichever works!).

I've been designing our invitations and am planning to mail them out during the first week of March. Fabulous bridesmaid Haley is coming to visit from Atlanta, and I'm hoping we can have an invitation assembling/stuffing/stamping party while she's here.

I've also gotten wind of a bridal shower being planned by my other fabulous bridesmaids, and I am definitely looking forward to that!

WHEW - as you can see, lots finally happening. I know, I know, it's about time. I've always been a late bloomer. Better late than never, right? To be honest, I'm glad I've waited so long to make a lot of the bigger decisions, because I would have chosen very different things a year ago, and I like my new ideas much better. I've done a lot of research and reading and gained a lot of perspective on this whole wedding-planning-shebang.

Three months feels long right now, but between marathon training and planning my spring fundraiser at work, I have a feeling it will be here before I know it...
