It's been a little quiet on my blog this past week and a half. I had some minor diagnostic (laparascopy) surgery last week in order to determine whether I had endometriosis. Thankfully the surgery gave me some positive news in that I am in the clear. However I've been bailed up on the couch for the better part of a week resting and allowing my body to heal. Not to mention I've had no appetite or desire to cook, considering the gas they used to expand my abdomen took several days to release from my body, causing me all types of strange pangs of pain!
Enough of my medical dramas - the important thing is that I'm healthy and I'm back in the swing of things.
I've been wanting to start this series for some time now. It's very special to me because the recipes I will be basing the series on come from a handwritten recipe pocketbook written by my great great grandfather, William Timothy Kerrisk, circa 1901. It was one of the belongings handed down from my great grandmother to my grandmother, many years ago.
