This class will cover oils that are paleo approved. We will look at how to use them, what the differences are, how to store them and what foods to use them with. We will also look at spices and herbs and learn to pair them with individual dishes.
2) Field Trip!! Whole Foods Shopping Tutorial=$10
We will meet at the Hollywood Whole Foods (on Sandy) and wander through the produce, meat and bulk section. I will talk about what produce to select, how to store it and how to prepare. We will look at different cuts of meats as well as how to navigate the bulk section of nuts, spices and fruits.
3) How to Cook Veggies =$10
Did you know you can overcook veggies and destroy their nutritional value? Learn how to prepare and cook vegetables and fruits in such a way as to maximize the benefits of what you are eating.
4) Pale Treats=$15
Even though there’s no grains or sugars in the Paleo diet, that doesn’t mean you have to give up treats all together! Come taste and learn how to make various baked goodies such as cookies, bars, breads and more! Recipes included!
How to Read Nutrition Facts and Ingredient Labels= $10
Learn how to decipher and understand the labels and ingredients on packages. Identify hidden sugars, toxins and salts in the ingredients.
