Whooo! It’s been awhile since I have posted, and this is not what I would classify as a “nutritious” dessert, but as I explained in my last post, this blog is now mainly just documenting what’s going on in my life. We are moving to Annapolis in a few weeks, and this past month has been full of goodbyes.
Tomorrow, I’m hosting a little brunch with my coworkers – the women who also used to be my rehab therapists. They mean so much to me, and I wanted to do a little thank you before I left. I’ll post more details about the menu probably in the next week. But knowing that one of these special ladies is allergic to nuts (and the only dessert I have are French macarons which contain almond meal in them), I had some puff pastry and quickly whipped up some pretty palmiers (elephant ears).
These are quick and easy to make. I remember my aunt showing me how to make them when I was a teenager, so this was only the second time I made them, and it was still as easy as I remembered.
There really is no “recipe” for these – just sugar, cinnamon, and frozen puff pastry sheets – but if you want guidelines, look at Ina Garten’s recipe . I think her directions for temperature and timing is spot-on.
