My co-worker Angie and I have been obsessed with these cinnamon sugar almonds I found at Walgreen’s randomly. The brand is Nice! Walgreen’s new private label. They are fantastic but have tons of sugar. Angie and I started thinking of ways to make these almonds on our own but luckily Angie beat me to it and made them herself!
Cinnamon Sugar Almondsmade with no butter or oil!ingredients:
1 bag of raw unsalted almonds
2 egg whites
1 tsp of cold water
1/2 cup of granulated sugar (you can substitute with Splenda)
1 tbsp of cinnamon
1 tsp of salt
Beat the water and egg whites together and coat all of the almonds with the egg white mixture. Add the sugar, salt and cinnamon until all of the almonds are equally coated. Spread the almonds on a baking pan sprayed with non stick cooking spray.
Bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes then turn the oven down to 250 degrees for another 50 minutes.
Serve warm or at room temperature.
I highly recommend you make a big batch of them and keep a zip lock in your desk drawer to snack on at work. Just don’t eat the entire bag at once!
