Cinnamon Pecan Pear Smoothie

I think it’s a combination of the weather changing and changes in my life, but every morning when my alarm goes off, it’s getting harder and harder to wake up! Since I do bootcamp so early on Tuesdays and Thursdays, I am trying to give myself a little break on the other days and sleep in a bit. Today, I snoozed for I won’t tell you how long because it’s rediculous. But, I ended up getting in a 35 minute workout anyway. I always tell myself when I am feeling lazy that any workout counts, even if it’s short!

I headed straight for the elliptical, since I hit the treadmill the last two days. I did 15 minutes of intervals, working up from my starting point:

  • 1 minute at 15 resistance, 10  incline
  • 2 minutes at 10 resistance, 15 incline

and ending at higher resistances/inclines. I then hit the stairmaster for 15 minutes. For some reason I always leave that thing super sweaty. I repeated similar 1 minute intervals here as well.

  • 1 minute at level 4
  • 1 minute at level 7 (working up to 8, 9, 10 and even 11)

Since I didn’t have time for a full ab workout, I was inspired by my three minute plank last week. I held one for probably about two minutes until my body gave out. I definitely felt the burn after that! I stretched and headed home for breakfast.

I had intentions for a few days to put the pecans that I found in my cabinet to good use. After loving peanuts in my smoothie , I knew the perfect way to use them!

Cinnamon Pecan Pear Smoothie

  • 5 ice cubes
  • 1 chopped up pear of your choice
  • 1/2 cup almond milk
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • drop of vanilla extract
  • stevia (or sugar of choice) to taste

Blend and serve.

The texture and taste were spot on.

Sometimes my experiments work and sometimes they are a disaster, but this, I would recommend trying as soon as possible!
