Good Morning!!
I’m back with my next holiday recap – Christmas Eve!
If you missed my first recap, check it out here!
Since we do our big Christmas Eve celebration early so everyone can participate, the actual day of Christmas Eve is usually low-key. This year, we spent the day prepping for Christmas Day since the family was coming to our house this year. Also, since I had to work Christmas morning this year, we had “Christmas Breakfast” on Christmas Eve instead
Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. So, when there’s a special occasion, you can bet your bottom dollar I’m going to make a special breakfast
Nana and Aunt Kathy planned to come over in the morning around 11am. I decided to get in a quick workout before hand and planned to have everything ready when they arrived. My plan worked out perfectly!
After an early morning bootcamp and 40 minutes on the bike, I got to work on preparing breakfast. My menu consisted of panettone french toast, a veggie frittata, and fresh berries. (recipes coming soon)
While I cooked, Mom set the table – doesn’t it look so pretty?!
Once Nana and Aunt Kathy arrived, we sat down to eat.
My plate …
After breakfast, I ran a few errands and got ready for church. Since Nana was here, we had to be ready WELL before we had to go
When church got out, we headed over to D’oro for a yummy Christmas Eve feast!
I started off with the arugula salad topped with raisins and goat cheese
and had lobster, clams, mussels, calamari, and homemade linguine for dinner.
Since we had the last seating at the restaurant, there was no need to rush through dinner. Once we were done, we stayed a bit an chatted
When we got home, I got ready for bed since I had work the next morning (boo!). Before going to sleep, however, I had one more thing to do …
Put out milk and cookies for Santa!!!
Then, I headed to bed before an early morning wake up call for work!
Stay tuned for Christmas Day!
Question: Do you go big on Christmas Eve or keep it simple and low key?
