Merry Christmas Eve to everyone! I can’t believe Christmas is tomorrow, this year has flown by. After a crazy fews days I am excited to relax this afternoon before we head to my aunt and uncle’s house tonight. A lot has happened over the past day so i’ll get started!
Breakfast in the morning consisted of a fritatta filled with spinach, mushrooms, onion, tomatoes, and sharp cheddar cheese that Dutch and I threw together to fuel us through our busy day.
We served a green smoothie packed with kale, spinach, almond milk, chia, and bananas alongside for a delicious and filling breakfast.
After breakfast I got to work on baking the gingerbread for our gingerbread house. I used this recipe and it ended up being absolutely perfect.
For my first time making gingerbread for the house I was quite impressed with how well the dough turned out. While the house was baking in the oven I got to work on the royal icing using this recipe.
*notice the messy kitchen haha. Once the gingerbread was cool we got to work on our house,

Getting the house to stand on the foundation was the most difficult part.
My dad came home from work and joined in on the fun!
In the end I was pretty impressed with how well the house turned out. I think David and Dutch may have found a new talent
While we worked on our house and baked we snacked on some yummy appetizers
and then opened gifts!
Dutch and I got a picnic basket complete with wine glasses. Perfect for hiking
Well i’m off to enjoy an evening with my family.
