Chocolate Peanut Butter Oat Bran Smoothie and Exciting Packages
Posted Jun 06 2011 11:19am
Good morning! I hope that your Monday is starting off well. I am happy to say that today was the third day in a row that I got up and out for an early run. I really want to continue this trend because it frees up so much more time in my day. I ran my favorite sweaty five mile loop along Lake Michigan. I had hoped to get a strength training workout in today but it will have to wait until the afternoon because my to do list is calling me.
When I returned from my run I was in the mood for some delicious overnight oats, unfortunately I had forgotten to prep a bowl last night. I decided that the best substitute would be a raw oat bran twist on a dough boy smoothie.
Chocolate Peanut Butter Oat Bran Smoothie
1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
1/2 cup raw oat bran
1 ripe banana
1 tbsp cocoa powder
1 tbsp peanut butter
This blend isn’t quite as refreshing as some of my other fruity smoothies, however, it is extremely filling, which is perfect for my busy morning. The oat bran also adds a little extra texture to an otherwise smooth concoction.
I have no idea what happened to that double chocolate walnut cookie on the right.
The second was a wonderfully sweet package from my blog buddy Emily .
Larabar, Whole Foods Lip balm, and an awesome mantra magnet. You know me too well Em, thanks so much for the treats!
Last, but certainly not least some awesome new items from Ecolissa a wonderful eco-conscious clothing company that offered me a generous 50% discount! Having not purchased a stitch of clothing in almost a year, I decided to take advantage.
I’ll be reviewing the items later this week but I can tell you right now that I already want to live in the blue bamboo capri pants because they are outrageously soft!
Don’t forget to stop by Caitlin’s Baking for Boobies Sale and bid on the fabulous items. Caitlin and her 4 teammates will be walking 60 miles (!) in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for a Cure in order to raise money for breast cancer research and community support programs. Her team has a fundraising goal of $11,500 and have currently raised $7,226.
All of you readers who are jealous of my Trader Joe’s goodies need to pop over to the sale and bid on the TJ’s goodie bag that I have donated!
Alrighty, I am off to tackle my to do list! I would love to hear from you…
Do you have a busy week ahead?
