Chocolate for Breakfast and Non-Workout Workouts

Workout

This morning I woke up completely not in the mood to workout.  My stomach felt a bit off, so I decided to forgo my trip to the gym in exchange for a long walk with Sandy.

Walking my dog is my go-to “non-workout” workout.  It’s not nearly as intense as running, but it gets my heart pumping and doesn’t feel like exercising because I enjoy it so much.  I ended up walking two hilly miles with Sandy and even worked up a sweat in the process.  Not a bad non-workout if you ask me!

Breakfast

Breakfast this morning felt decadent.  Lena , your chocolate milk tip on Peanut Butter Finger’s blog yesterday inspired me!  Last night I assembled a bowl of overnight oats.

Looks gross, but tastes good

I used old-fashioned oats, Silk soy milk, strawberry yogurt, and a bit of Hershey’s cocoa powder.  The cocoa powder adds a rich chocolaty taste to the oats.  I kind of feel like I’m eating a piece of chocolate cake.  Ok, they’re not that good, but as a way to start your morning, they’re awesome.
