Chips and Chocolate

Posted Jan 12 2013 4:55pm

This post is LONG overdue, but I assure you I have been savoring every last bit of what I am about to share with you all. I was lucky enough to get some free products from both Food Should Taste Good and NuGo Nutrition . Thank you to both companies for supplying me with these products to review.

First up are the chips. These chips are amazing. I wanted to branch out and try a flavor other than multigrain and was given FIVE coupons for FIVE free bags. WOWZA! Instead of breaking them all down, I will highlight the TOP TWO flavors.

lime I used to LOVE Tostitos hint of lime chips, but they have MILK products in them which isn’t very vegan friendly. These lime chips are just as good, but without the milk! I ate this entire bag in one sitting..oops.

bbq_spc I was never the biggest fan of BBQ flavored chips, but HOLY HEAVENS this flavor along with the flavor of the sweet potatoes are unreal. I ate this bag in one sitting too..double oops.

FSTG products are delicious, affordable, versatile, and make your waist line happy (as long as you don’t eat the entire bag like I did.) Check out the other 23 flavors on their website!

Since no salty is complete without sweet, NuGo Nutrition bars pair perfectly with these chips. My favorite part about these bars is that they use real dark chocolate. This makes the bars taste real good. They are high in protein and fiber, and satisfied my sweet tooth craving. I tried two of the new NuGo slim bars

nugo-slim-espresso This bar wasn’t my favorite flavor wise, but it was a good go to snack after my spin class. 16g of protein and 7g of fiber, score.

nugo-slim-crunchy-peanut This flavor I loved. I have a hard time saying no to anything with PB. 17g of protein and 7g of fiber. These bars are great. Best part is that the ingredient list is decipherable and they are vegan friendly.

Next time you’re going to a pot luck, get these chips. Next time you need an after workout snack, or something to take the edge off your sweet tooth monster, get these bars!

Q: Have you tried either of these products?
