Child and Adolescent Health

Posted Oct 22 2008 9:32pm

AHRQ just released a report on Child Health Research.  This collection of research data is important becasue children and adolescents are growing and developing, and their health care needs, use of services, and outcomes are very different from those of adults. Furthermore, adolescents have different health care needs than younger children. Thus, specialized research is necessary to improve health care services for children and adolescents.

The report covers the following topics:

Introduction
Acute Care/Injuries
Adolescent Health
Asthma
Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder
Chronic Illness
Costs, Use, and Access to Care
Emergency Care/Hospitalization
Mental Health
Newborns and Infants
Obesity/Overweight
Oral Health
Otitis Media/Respiratory Infection
Preventive Services
Quality of Care/Patient Safety
Research Priorities and Capacity-Building
Other Research

To request a print copy of the report write to ahrqpubs@ahrq.hhs.gov.
