Cheers to Friday!

Posted Apr 27 2012 11:46am

I’m giddy today. For so many reasons!!!

1. I tried kombucha a few months ago, and I wasn’t thrilled. I’m not sure if it was the flavor or not, but I stopped by Fresh Market yesterday and saw this:

synergy, komucha, chia

I’m in love. I’m a kombucha convert if this is what I can get my hands on every time. ;) It’s pretty fun to drink, too…kind of reminds me of that drink “Orbitz” that was around only for a little while when I was younger. Remember this?

orbitzSource .

2. This is on its way to my house as we speak:

nike fuelband, nike+ Source .

A graduation present from my hubby!!! Woooooo hooooo!! (I can’t tell you how excited I am to have yet another amazing Nike something in my fit collection. ;) ) I plan to be donning this beauty for a long time.

3. I meal planned yesterday…and cleaned out my pantry and refrigerator. Classes end this week, and I’m ecstatic, because my meal creativity has suffered terribly. So I planned and got ready to really revamp my diet. No use in training for a race I won’t be healthy for, right? I started the day off with this, thanks to my refreshing new stock of healthy eats:

plum, coconut, mueslix, breakfast

Plum & Coconut Muesli. Oh yes.

51 g muesli (I used Great Grains)

1 tbs raw flaked coconut

4 oz unsweetened vanilla almond milk

1 tbs raw pumpkin seeds

1/4 of a plum

Throw it in a bowl. It’s that simple. ;)

4. Jess and Jo , two fabulous friends of mine, convinced me that barre workouts would be beneficial to my running training. Jess even wrote a post today explaining why running + barre works . (Gotcha back, friend!) I have a portable ballet bar (thanks, honey!!!) and a set of Physique 57 workout DVDs ready to go, and I plan to work yoga into the mix as well. (And would you believe I actually have this all penciled in!?! Write it down everyone…Melissa actually set plans.)

5. I’m one week away from graduating with a big fat 4.0…and I couldn’t be happier. I haven’t seen that GPA since high school. Hey, I’m my girls’ role model, remember? ;) Their pediatrician insists the girls will be taller than 5’10. Maybe a momma can hope and see one of her little girls end up on the UCONN women’s team…;). I’ve busted some booty this past year, and I couldn’t have done it without all the support, that’s for sure. So, I’m heading into finals this week, and I’ll be done! Yee!

What are you loving this wonderful Friday?
