Cars, Cars and More Cars!

Good evening, all!

Today was all about cars, cars, and more cars, with a trip to the Sarasota Classic Car Museum.

After spin class this morning, and working for a few hours on various projects, we had lunch.

Lunch:

A Kitchen Sink Salad

Was a huge salad (my mom is an expert salad maker) with all sorts of goodies:

• lettuce
• cucumber
• carrot
• cherry tomatoes
• corn
• sliced turkey
• munster cheese
• olives
• sundried tomatoes
• all topped with Newman’s Own Vinagrette.

Plus, an unphotographed meatball and a half (I shared the last half meatball with Ant. If that’s not love, what is.) and a small piece of gf focaccia.

After lunch, we headed up to Sarasota to deal with Thrifty. ‘Nough said.

After that, we did a much more enjoyable car-related activity!

Sarasota Classic Car Museum

My parents met us at the Sarasota Classic Car Museum for an afternoon of soaking in culture. Or soaking up fumes, as the case may be. The Sarasota Classic Car Museum.

The Sarasota Classic Car Museum is recognized as the second oldest continuously operating antique car museum in the Nation! As you stroll through the museum, travel back in time and into the future of man’s greatest invention, the automobile! Antique, exotic, European and one-of-a-kind classics are featured in our rotating exhibits throughout the museum, seven days a week. - From the Website

We saw all sorts of cars from the first styles made to concept BMWs to celebrity vehicles.

Katharine Hepburn’s last car – a very sensible ford for a very sensible lady…(I was named after her!)

Ant's Astin...

My fantasy car. I can't for the life of me remember the brand.

My dream car – unfortunately, there are only 200 in existence and it would cost about a million dollars to buy.

The most fascinating car was a 1952 BMW concept car, which opened in the front, instead of the side!

That would have been so weird to drive!

After the museum, we headed back home for a swim, (gotta love Florida houses with pools as the backyard) a nice walk with the pooch, and dinner.

Dinner:

Was zucchini pasta with Aidell’s chicken and apple sausage . It was absolutely delicious!!

I love aidells for their quality ingredients and unbelievable taste.

Now, off to watch a movie and firm up plans for our upcoming Europe trip – so excited!
