Can’t think of a title… I need coffee :)

Posted May 27 2010 5:52am

Goooooooood morning! WOW. It was an early one for me this morning- up at 6:00 and on the road by 6:30 to avoid traffic and get into Charlotte for clients.  And when I say up by 6:00, I really mean out of bed at 6:15, on the road at 6:30, so I barely had time to wash my face, brush my teeth, throw on clothes and get in the car. That means breakfast was whatever I could grab on my way out. And here’s what I could grab:

I also grabbed a handful of almonds to throw on my yogurt…

and I doubt any cops would be pleased with my driving and eating skills. Note to self: wake up when the alarm goes off, so I can eat at home and not push my luck on the road… pears are tricky when they’re dripping sweet, delicious pear juice!

The good news is, no wrecks, a full tummy and made it into to Charlotte with time to blog! Not pictured: a small coffee with skim milk… today is definitely a coffee day :D

One thing I miss about living in right in Charlotte is all the delicious food options close by… Fresh market, Trader Joes, cute bistros, and Laural Market.  Laurel Market is inside an old gas station (at least that is what is looks like) and is one of my favorite places for lunch.

I imagine all their food is tasty, but I wouldn’t know because I always get the same thing:

The Athena Wrap is glorious! Whole wheat wrap, spinach, hummus, cucumber, kalamata olives, red onion, tomatoes, feta cheese and a drizzle of sundried tomato vinaigrette… nom nom nom…

Lunch- check! Still a busy afternoon ahead of me.  But then it’s almost Memorial Day Weekend! Do you have any fun plans? I think I’m just going to be a lake bum… hope the rain stays away!  Do yall have any fun Memorial Day recipes? American themed treats? I love theme parties and cooking :D Please share!

Whew- what a day- but a good one! Lots of client success today, which makes me happy! What else makes me happy? Smoothies!  I want to start making them at home, but I was on the road today, so I tried Panera’s low fat Strawberry Smoothie made with organic yogurt (260 calories/ 1.5 g fat)

Pretty good! Not a strong flavor, but it was smooth and cool and filled me up perfectly for my afternoon snack.  After a couple more sessions, I hit some traffic on the ride home.  Luckily, I had some almonds leftover from breakfast… score!

I arrived home around 6:45, hungry and whipped. I heard from some of yall, that waking up at 6:00am is no biggie. I admire you! And those that hit the gym in the morning, too… Yall really are my inspiration…seriously, I mean it. For now, 7:15 is my usual wake up time and I don’t see that changing anytime soon.  Hubbs mentioned going out to dinner, but I wasn’t feeling up for leaving, so I poured myself a drink…

(95% club soda, 5% splash of vodka)

After a few moments of relaxation, I went to check out the fridge… here’s what I decided on:

Random mix? YUP. But I wasn’t up for cooking, so it all hit the spot.  Hubbs decided to treat himself to frozen pizza (which I rarely keep in the house, but it was free at the grocery store… so how could I not take it home?) Also, how could I not have 1 tiny little slice? ;)

One was perfect.  Just a taste was all I needed, along with my other “snacks”.  Today was a good day.  Off to watch Ocean’s 13 (I love the Ocean’s movies :D )

Have a good night!
