Just as I expected I can barely walk today! haha. But I love being sore so I was pretty happy about that!
So along with my increase in calories I’m planning on trying out a couple of things in order to further increase my metabolism. Those things are:
I’ve been doing a lot of research and supposedly those things really get your metabolism going and help build muscle. Since I’m trying to make myself a lean and mean calorie burning machine, I’m going to try out some of those aspects so that I can get up over 2000 everyday!
Anyway, I woke up early this morning and had breakfast waiting for me in the refrigerator. I’m sorry if this combo is getting old but it’s just so delicious.. I could eat it at every meal! Last night I mixed together:
1 cup Daisy 2% cottage cheese
1/2 cup 0% Fage yogurt
1/3 cup raw oats
1/3 cup fresh blackberries
Cinnamon, Ginger, Liquid Vanilla Stevia
360 calories, 44 grams of protein, 29 carbs, 5 grams of fat
Seriously you guys must try it! The yogurt mixed with the cottage cheese leads to a super yummy texture and the raw oats make it so doughy and delicious!
A couple hours later I forced myself to do 30 minutes of the P90X yoga to stretch out my legs. Afterwards I was slightly hungry so I had a Quick Zucchini Protein Cake topped with 2 tsp 0% Fage (mixed with stevia):
110 calories, 21 grams of protein, 5 carbs, 0 fat
And then 1.5 hours later I was starving! I couldn’t wait any longer for lunch so I just decided to eat at 11. Today was Salmon Sunday of course! I had 4 oz of salmon (covered in tons of cayenne) with steamed broccoli (covered in Braggs), and 10 roasted asparagus spears:
330 calories, 42 grams of protein, 13 grams of carbs, 15 grams of fat
And about 1.5 hours later I was hungry again! So I made achocolate Protein Cake, cut it in half, and topped it with 2 tbsp Daisy 2% cottage cheese (mixed with stevia), 1/4 banana, and 1 tsp Naturally More PB:
165 calories, 23 grams of protein, 9 grams of carbs, 3 grams of fat
The rest of the afternoon I spent being lazy and going to a couple stores with my mom. When I came home I made a protein pudding- I apologize for all my protein powder concoctions but I’m trying to eat more and sometimes I just need something small when my appetite is not there! Anyway, I mixed up 1 serving Biochem 100% Whey Vanilla Protein Powder with 1/4 cup pure pumpkin, 3 tbsp cold water, and cinnamon. Then I topped it with 1 tbsp TrueWhip and 1 tsp natural pb:
170 calories, 21 grams of protein, 6 grams of carbs, 3 grams fat
The rest of the afternoon I spent being lazy.. it’s my only rest day I might as well take advantage of it right?
For dinner I made Lindsay’s Egg Marinara. I made a single portion using 3/4 cup no-salt tomato sauce, 1 egg, and red pepper flakes. I topped it with 22 grams of avocado and also had 1 steamed zucchini with pepper on the side:
230 calories, 14 grams of protein, 17 carbs, 7 grams of fat
Great recipe Lindsay! It was way easier than I thought (even though I cook a lot I’m not a very good egg cooker!) and it was delicious too!
I don’t have any plans tonight besides watching a Lifetime Movie and doing some meal planning. Oh, and I’m planning on eating something else.. probably cottage cheese with peanut butter or something along those lines!
Anyway, I hope you all had a great weekend! And hopefully you have off tomorrow for MLK day!
