I have been waiting for today for a very long time. It was the day we made a decision about one of the most important aspects of our wedding…. The CAKE!!!
One of the great things about our venue is that our package includes a three-tiered cake from Margaret’s French Bakery . We scheduled our tasting a couple of weeks ago. We had already checked out the options available and had a favorite in mind going in, but we were excited to try them all!
The bakery was a cute, tiny place – it is by appointment only so there were no other customers there.
When we arrived, a delectable plate of cake was ready for our consumption:
A little paperwork…
And then it was cake time!
Which is which?
And you can tell we were here:
Yeah… we didn’t like any of them
As Margaret was finishing up our order, S leaned over and whispered in my ear…
Do you think anybody else eats ALL the cake??
I just looked at him.
Um…. YES!!!!
I actually ended up laughing about it and telling Margaret. She laughed too and said… “Yes! Everybody eats it ALL!!”
And by the way, we did end up going with the one we thought we were going to. With another one thrown in! Our bias going in was for the red velvet, our favorite . We ended up getting the bottom and the top layer in red velvet, and the middle layer in devil’s food cake. Yay!
Next up? Getting S’s wedding ring! After thinking about it for a week, he decided that he did want to get the one he picked out last weekend.
Looks good, no?
After a quick stop at McDonalds (S was in dire need of a cheeseburger!!!)
We headed to the third wedding stop of the day – the tuxedo shop to get S’s tuxedo! He will be renting.
He picked out a really sharp Calvin Klein tux.
Note: He will not be wearing gray pants with a black jacket! He was just trying these on for sizing purposes.
It was a very productive day! And it feels really good to cross a few big things off of our wedding to-do list. Just a month and a half until the big day!
