My dad showed up at my office this morning and surprised me with a HUGE cup of coffee! My mom and I have both agreed to give up coffee for Lent this year, so we’re enjoying our last sips today. How convenient that I’m in Kansas again, so we can support each other this week!
Just to be clear, I didn’t say I was giving up caffeine all together… tea is still fair game! But coffee is a BIG DEAL for my mom, so I’m really proud of her making this commitment! And it will be good for me, too! Coffee can be pretty addicting if I’m not careful, and is quite acidic in the body, so it’ll be nice to give my system a break from it.
Anyone else giving up something for Lent?
In other news…

A. Age: 28
B. Bed size: Queen
C. Chore you dislike: Laundry– especially folding it! Austin and I do this chore together to make it more fun.
D. Dogs: Yasha, a miniature Eskimo
She just had her 8th birthday, and we celebrated with a haircut! (not her idea of fun… but she sure looks cute!)
E. Essential start to your day: My probiotics! I put 3 drops in a small glass of water first thing while I wake up.
F. Favorite color: Yellow makes me happy, but I love green, too!
G. Gold or silver: Depends… I love silver for most jewelry, but I just bought this gold necklace that I’m in love with:
I. Instruments you play(ed): I took piano lessons for a few years, then learned to play the guitar in college– but I can’t play either now! Hopefully it’s like riding a bike, and I’ll be able to pick them up easily again in the future…

W. What makes you run late: I am a perpetual procrastinator… sometimes I’m late just because I’ll put off “getting ready” until the very last minute! But I try really hard to be on time, and am almost always early if it’s important!
X. X-rays you’ve had: Ankles (I used to teach dance classes, which aggravated my ankles to no end!), Heel (had a piece of glass stuck in my heel for nearly a month before realizing it!), Chest (I passed out in the room during that one… and woke up to a group of doctors standing around me looking at the HUGE lump forming on my head).
