I love a clean apartment.
Especially when it doesn’t involve any work on my part.
That wasn’t the case today, but I still feel very content about how clean our apartment is.
But, if I could only choose one room to keep clean and organized it would definitely be the kitchen. How about you?
Yesterday’s work was enjoyed this morning. The frittatas I made for lunch and my Savvy Apple Butter were the first thing on my mind this morning. Why not have both for breakfast?
Easily one of the best breakfasts I have had in a while. I love a good, steamy bowl of oats topped with sticky peanut butter. But, giving in to what you’re craving really is the best.
As a side note, when I asked J how his apple butter sandwiches were for lunch he replied, “That apple butter is damn good!”
The cleaning spree I started this morning lasted all the way through lunch. While I’d certainly worked up an appetite, nothing in particular stood out. I thought about reheating some soup, but decided against. I considered making a sandwich, but knew I wouldn’t be truly satisfied. Eventually I decided to make something a little “lighter” for the time being and have a heartier snack before work.
(Next time I feel this way I’ll just go with the heartier snack I wanted to begin with.)
The dinner plan for tonight said leftovers. Originally J wanted to reheat soup and I was going to finish off the rest of the soba noodles we didn’t use Sunday night.
However, when Jeremy heard what I was having I think he got a little jealous. We both ended up enjoying yakisoba (meat and noodles).
I grabbed dessert from the grocery store after work:
A slice of pumpkin roll to share with J, except we both only ended up eating about half of our share—it wasn’t very good and definitely not worth the calories it contained. One piece was almost 450 calories! No thanks, not for that.
The round up of snacks today looked like this:
Frozen grapes before lunch
Combination of Kashi Go Lean, raw oatmeal, and honey nut cheerios with cinnamon and a spoonful of peanut butter before teaching my afternoon class
Mug of hot mint tea while waiting at the station. I was clever and took my own drink this time. Maria-1, vending machine-0!
Pomegranate Soyjoy bar at the train station after work
Today was incredibly busy, and while I got a lot done, there’s just still so much to do!
I was planning on a run tomorrow morning, but my left foot is a little tender tonight. I’m going to play it by ear (foot?) and call that one in the morning. If my foot feels 100%, I’ll run, but if not I won’t. Definitely don’t want to get another stress fracture this year!
