Burrrrr it’s cold! <— I really wanted to start saying it’s cold in here, there must be some torros in the atmosphere, but I didn’t (even though I just did). Bring it on anyone?
Okay, enough. Anyway! Good morning : ) It’s pretty chilly here in Florida.
It’s actually warmer than it was yesterday but it’s definitely fun for a change to have to wear boots and scarves and things like that.
I set my alarm this morning for 7 am so I could wake up and get the gym out of the way. Apparently I didn’t want to wake up.
I don’t even remember turning off my alarm but I woke up an hour and a half later and said F it.
Instead I’m sipping on some hot coffee and enjoying a leisurely morning.
I’m not really sure what I’m going to do for my workout yet, but it may just have to wait until after class.
On another note, I printed out my waiver for my half! I’m getting really excited/nervous now.
Ahhh!!! And of course, my teachers assign EVERYTHING within the next couple of weeks. It’s like they know when I will be super busy, so they give me tons of work. #collegekidproblems
I’m actually heading home this week, probably on Wednesday, because I have a doctors appointment for my tummy (will update after!), I have to take my mom to get cataract surgery, and it’s my best friends birthday weekend.
Then I have the race, which my other best friend Krystie , who I’ve mentioned before, is coming up to stay with me and run the race!
I definitely want to get compression socks. Does anyone have an recommendations? And I would like to dress up. I’m thinking something pink, tutu maybe? ;D
So yeah, in about 10 days, I will officially be a half marathoner. I cannot wait.
On the other hand, how do you stay warm when you are a Floridian and not use to the cold?
- Work out. If you get super sweaty I promise you will welcome the cold air on your face.
- Drink hot chocolate.
After lunch yesterday I wasn’t feeling coffee, so I rolled with homemade hot chocolate. I just used unsweetened cocoa powder and used Xylitol as the sugar. Super chocolatey, delicious, and even low cal (if you care).
3. Eat soup.
I am diggin’ the soup and potatoes lately. This soup was the Amy’s minestrone. It was alright. It was actually really bland so I just put a ton of parmesan cheese in it and it did the trick.
4. Don’t leave the house. Kidding, kind of. I literally did not step foot outside the house yesterday due to my massive amounts of work I have to do. And I only put a dent in it.
I’m also dog sitting my roommates other puppy this week! Well, she’s six. But I call any dog that’s small a puppy.
Now I’m just rambling. I better get to work!
How do you stay warm?
What is the weather where you live?
Do you set multiple alarms?
Runners: any recommendations for compression socks?
