YEAH~~~ I made BUNs!!!! And you know what? it was soooooo EASY!!! Because I had a handy tool from barstools

Healthy buns ingredients: 2 cup white flour, 2 cup WW flour, 2 tbsp olive oil, 2 tbsp sugar, pinch of salt and 1 packet of active yeast.
Usually buns in China are made with only white flour because it’s more spongy and tastes better. But you know me… I like to play around and add more healthier ingredients.
Add ingredients (in that order) to the machine

choose the dough option and wait!
Meanwhile, I walked to an asian market to re-stock lotus powder

It was like 3 miles walk…. rejuvenating and relaxing. When I came back, the dough was almost ready

take it out and put it in a floured surface

un-air a little bit and fold again

shape it. I just roll it and cut it

put it in the container that will be used to steam, and let it sit for another 20 min

and steam it for 20-25 min. I had to put chopsticks to avoid the water to get into the buns

look how they expanded… BEAUTIFUL!!

I was too excited and forgot to put some oil to the steam basket and this happened

anyway… the end product is a spongy, slightly sweet bun!! Just like what we get in China if not better!

Of course, I ate other things other than buns
…. Look what I had

can you believe that I feel like a new goat-cheese converter?? I said first I didn’t like it and now I’m having it every day! How funny!
Steamed cauliflower topped sauce made with half tahini half miso with a pinch of sugar, inspired by Maggie .

black bean and brown/black rice

YUMMY~~~ I called it a good night of eats!
Spring is sooo close! Are you excited? I AM!!
Q: What’s your favorite season and why? Mine is definitely end of spring or beginning of summer because I relate to that period to vacation, relax, calm and wear pretty clothes!
