Bright Pink Fab Fest 2013! A day of fitness, fun, & beauty for a great cause.

Posted Apr 24 2013 3:49pm

In 2009 I attended FabFest for Bright PInk not really knowing what the event was for but it sounded like a fun way to try out different fitness formats at a swanky hotel for a good cause.  During the event I learned so much about the organization and heard stories from incredible and inspiring women.   Bright Pink is the only national non-profit organization focusing on the risk reduction and early detection of breast and ovarian cancer in young women while providing support for high-risk individuals.

"Founded in 2007 and based on a dream of empowering young women to become advocates for their health, Bright Pink is now the only national non-profit organization with an exclusive focus on the prevention and early detection of breast and ovarian cancer in young women. Bright Pink engages young women in potentially life-saving conversations, while arming them with knowledge and empowering them to take control of their breast and ovarian health."-Brightpink.org

Myself along with the support of the Pilates studio where I work have formed 2 teams of 12 women to raise money for Bright Pink and to participate as a group at this wonderful fitness  and wellness filled day!  As a Pilates teacher I often serve as a counselor, friend, or  just a set of ears for listening and over the years I have listened to my clients tell stories of their own or their friends that have undergone preventive measures against breast and ovarian cancer and it is very tough psychologically and physically on them.  Bright Pink does an amazing job offering support to these women in many ways; providing them with a " pink pal ," support groups, medical resources, legal and financial resources, and a full community of women who may be in similar situations.

I invite you to participate on our team if you are interested and live in the Chicagoland area or if you want to come in for the event you are more than welcome, the more the merrier!  If you can't participate but you would like to donate to our team you can do so by clicking on the graphic above.  My personal goal is to raise  $500 but I would love to raise more and your support would mean the world to me.
If you can't make a donation at this point but would like to help, you can by sharing this by email, twitter, or on your facebook page.  You can share by posting this link
