I’ve eaten this breakfast for three days straight because it’s frickin’ delicious. It also happens to be packed with protein, fiber, and antioxidants. So, yeah…
Component #1 – Fage 0% Plain Greek Yogurt.
I don’t know why it’s taken me so long to get on board with plain Greek yogurt. I’ve always eaten the fruit-flavored kind. But, duh. Nutritionally, plain can’t be beat.

(I realize the serving sizes are different, but that just shows you that you can have a larger serving of plain yogurt for less calories, sugar, and carbs than a smaller serving of the fruit kind. And more protein per ounce! )
Component #2 – Pomegranate Arils.
Where have you been all my life?
Those little things are delicious. Juicy and sweet with a touch of tartness.
Component #3 – Agave nectar.
Agave nectar is my sweetener of choice. Just a little bit goes a long way. To read about it’s health benefits and it’s advantages over other sweeteners (granular sugars, artificial sugars, etc.), check out this website http://www.allaboutagave.com/index.php .
Component #4 – Uncle Sam Cereal
The peeps at Attune Foods sent me a few boxes of Uncle Sam Cereals to try. With fiber, protein, and Omega-3 Fatty Acids, these cereals make a great, crunchy topping for yogurt. The Strawberry and the Honey Almond are my favorites.
What are your favorite yogurt/fruit/cereal combos?
I bought the pomegranate arils at Costco. Meaning, I have LOT. Besides adding them to yogurt and salads, I’m at a loss as to how to use them. Any ideas?
