Boston Food Blogger’s Event at M.J O’Connor’s!!

Posted Oct 06 2011 1:06pm

Last night I attended the Boston Food Bloggers Bash at M.J O’Connor’s . This was my first ever bloggers event so needless to say I really didn’t know what to expect on top of being a tad nervous!

I especially didn’t expect to be on the front page of Boston Dot Com with Brittany !

I didn’t plan on staying the whole time but after meeting all these fabulous new blogger friends and after imbibing in a few awesome drinks (Bushmill’s and Guinness were highlighted), I happily ended up staying for most of the night! 100 bloggers were invited by Boston Food Bloggers which was founded by the lovely Rachel Blumenthal . There was an open bar, raffles to benefit Friends of Boston’s Homeless , delicious passed appetizers and generous gifts :)

I met Brittany a few weeks ago at a Wine Tour I gave in the North End. Speaking of which… don’t forget to enter the Boston City Wine Tour Giveaway ! You have just under a week to enter! :)

I met Lin and Jon from BeantownEats

Started to feel the Bushmill’s and let my insanity come out…just a little ;)

Saw my fellow wine tour guide the lovely Melanie ! And met the man behind The Food in My Beard ! I didn’t get a picture but I also met Kevin again from The Mighty Rib ! He took the North End wine tour a few weeks ago as well!

Jon from BeantownEats and Adam who has a Boston hospitality blog…

When I got home last night I was starving! Yes, yes there were lots of yummy treats at the bash but I was way too consumed with drinking chatting and making new friends!

I was going to take a picture of what I made but it wasn’t pretty… believe me if I showed you all a picture or even tried to describe what I made in my overtired, tipsy, late-night state you will never read my blog or want to hang out with me ever again. Trust me on this ;)

This morning started off on the right note! I had a simple but delicious breakfast.. a piece of gluten free oatmeal bread with lots of crunchy peanut butter, a teeeeny tiny gala apple and half banana. The prettiness of that green Pier One plate always puts a smile on my face :)

The weather in Boston has been pretty gloomy lately… I forgot how rainy and windy October can be this time of year in Massachusetts! I took this a couple nights ago… It looks gloomy but Boston is still beautiful , no?

Today however is sunny and crisp! You can really feel a chill in the air and the smell of Autumn leaves is definitely here too. I took another few days off from running and may attempt to run a few miles after work in this gorgeous Fall weather!

My Sister will be running the B.A.A half marathon this Sunday! My stress fracture isn’t totally healed so I won’t be running with her (duh ;)) however, I will be there to cheer her on! She also just got chosen for the MSAMS team for the Boston Marathon ’12! I am considering applying as well but I have no idea what state my leg will be in and it is a HUGE commitment. Our Mother got diagnosed with severe primary progressive multiple sclerosis in 1992 which completely took her active life away from her as she is now bed ridden. Running and supporting MS research is super important for both my sister and myself. I look forward to when I can start training with Sam again!

I had SO much fun meeting everyone at the Boston Food Bloggers bash! It really made me feel closer to the Boston Blogging community and I cannot wait to hang out with everyone again! I’m going to another outing next week that was organized by Erin after an awesome blogging connection post by Tina from Carrots ‘n’ Cake !

Do you get nervous when you meet other bloggers even though we ‘know’ eachother through blogs!?

What are you loving about October?
