Book Signing At CrossFit Austin

I’m super excited to let y’all know… I’m doing a book signing at CrossFit Austin on Saturday. My favorite CrossFit box is kicking off their annual Circle of Awesomeness Challenge on Saturday morning with benchmark workouts for the participants. Ouchie!

After their travails, I’ll do a short reading from Well Fed, and will be selling copies at $5 off the cover price. I’ll also be wielding my Sharpie, just in case you want me to sign your copy.

Come on out and play with us! You are totally safe from working out, but it’s a great opportunity to take a look around CrossFit Austin’s awesome new expanded space. Plus, you’ve read about Tristy and Walker and Wes in my blog; now’s your chance to meet the coaches I think are the finest in Austin… and, ya know… hang out with me a little!

    HUGE congrats on the success of Well Fed Mel!! If Oprah would lend me her private jet, then I’d SO be at the signing (I’ve always wanted to visit Austin)!

    My copy of Well Fed is quickly being worn in. Just made a batch of Ras al Hanout and it’s legit! Sauteed some grass-fed ground beef with it, then plopped the yumminess on top of a bed of raw kale with a huge dollop of parsnip hummus. Dee-Lish!And ps, if you’ve never made parsnip hummus, I highly recommend doing so. It’s life changing, and I suspect that a foodie such as yourself would get a real kick out of it.

      Thanks for the tip on parsnip hummus… I’ll have to give it at try. Do you make it the standard way, just subbing parsnips for chick peas?

      Really great to know you’re breaking in your copy of Well Fed. And yes, Ras el Hanout is magical.

        Here’s the recipe that I followed to make the parsnip hummus. It’s from The Food Network’s Aarti Sequeira. Totally scrumptious and addictive.
