Bonfires and Weddings and First Aid, Oh My!

Posted Sep 08 2013 9:29pm
Hello everyone!

I guess I didn't keep the promise I made on Thursday night...to blog more regularly. It's been such a busy weekend, I simply haven't had the time to blog. Here is a recap of my fun and busy weekend!

Friday

Unfortunately, I had such a great time on Friday that I completely forgot to take any photos! On Friday night, a group of my barn friends and coworkers got together for a summer's end campfire. We had a blast, shared lots of stories and ate tons of delicious food! It was a perfect way to start off the weekend!

Saturday

Saturday was a busy day right from the beginning. We drove three and a half hours to see two of our dear friends get married! We were extremely excited for the wedding ceremony and reception; however, we had to brave the elements to get there.

Fortunately, we made it there safe and sound! We met up with some of our friends and spent the afternoon together.

I couldn't have imagined a more perfect wedding for the bride and groom. They are so perfect for one another and I couldn't be happier for them!

Unfortunately, my camera died shortly into the evening, so I didn't get a chance to take many photos. We stayed until roughly 12:30am before taking the very late, very long drive back home. We didn't arrive home until close to 4:00am and I had to be up at 7:30am for first and and CPR training. It was an extremely exhausting night...but it was well worth it!

Sunday
Breakfast
I didn't have time or energy to do anything on Sunday morning, so I stopped by McDonald's on the way to the first aid certification course to get a smoothie for breakfast.

The course was really informative and it actually flew by! I was out of there in no time.

Lunch

I wasn't hungry at all today after eating so much delicious food earlier this weekend. For lunch, I had two organic Millet Rice Cakes topped with pure peanut butter and honey.

I spent the afternoon hanging out with a friend watching Spuce Meadows show jumping. It was a great way to relax after such a crazy weekend!

Dinner

When I got back home, Casey had made us some homemade hamburgers for dinner. I had a hamburger on a whole wheat bun with ketchup, mustard and relish. I ended up eating only one half of the bun because they were simply too big for the burger patty. I also had a big bowl of salad with carrot slaw and Remark Greek salad dressing.

Overall, I had such a fun weekend! It was so nice to have the weekend off from work, despite still being crazy busy. I'm ready to go to bed early tonight and perhaps take a nap after the morning program tomorrow!
