Eleven Hundred (1,100) Canadian Baby Boomers turn 60 every single day! Imagine that. So, calling all those Boomers. Take hold of your health. Take an active part in your wellness.
Our own grandparents used to sit and rock, knit, look after their grandchildren. Well, that can still be done if it is by choice! But, let's not make it a MUST.

Strong Muscles, Strong Bones
We hear so much about the benefits of heart healthy exercise. Well, now there is also bone healthy exercise and muscle healthy exercise. Isn't it time for many of us (over 40-50) to check this out? I think so. Let's stop being unwell and take an active part in our own feel good health!
Exercise is extremely good for you and it can help to reduce the risk of disease and it will help to keep the heart healthy, or help to get it healthy.
However, where it concerns to strengthen the bones, mild activity may not be enough.
Researchers have concluded that not general aerobic fitness nor the mild physical activities had a significant effect on bone density. Greater muscle strength, however, was associated with stronger bones.
"Although some activity may be better than none at all for certain aspects of health, like heart health, milder forms of activity may not be sufficient to hold off or attenuate the age-related decline in bone," says lead researcher Dr. Kerry J. Stewart of Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland.
