Hi all you folks out there in God’s green earth. I just wanted to take a moment and give you an update on my life here in the old man’s world. There’s both the good and the bad which I’m sure is present in all our lives. We are not in heaven yet, so none of our lives are perfect but with God’s help we can all reach Glory. I don’t want to be too preachy but the fact is Jesus, my Savior, has and continues to work miracles in my life. Just sitting here with the windows open and the sounds and smells of spring in the air brings joy to my heart and reminds me to be thankful for all of God’s little blessings each day.
Why is this important to you? I believe knowing the struggles which I am going through can help you reach your goals in life. Believe me, YOU ARE NOT ALONE! We all walk down the path of despair from time to time. Currently, I am dealing with the many struggles and stressful situations life brings both financially and what I will call spiritually for lack of a better word. When I say spiritual I don’t mean my relationship with God and my Savior because this is stronger than ever. Praise the Lord! I am talking about the stress associated with life I general, being the father of a teenager, and struggling reaching my weight loss goals. I’m not going to dwell too much on the financial. Let’s just say it is looking better. My food stamps have been approved. I have been struggling to get hours at work but this is changing and I will start getting full time hours next week. Again, Praise the Lord!
Soon I will begin recording my testimony and uploading it to Oldmanblurts YouTube . I already have posted many inspirational videos and invite you to drop by and subscribe. But today, let me briefly discuss my weight loss goals. I’m currently on a plateau . This is due to a couple of reasons. First, I have stopped keeping my journal the way I know I should so I’m not really tracking my foods properly and therefore, I’m certain I’m not eating like I should. So my first goal today is to begin journaling again. (You can read more about journaling in my article, Blurt: Journal and Succeed! ) Luckily, I have been exercising more so I’m not gaining weight either but this is more due to living a more active lifestyle than actually adding to my exercise routine. Which brings me to goal number 2; I need to add more steps to my exercise routine. I can do this in two ways: 1) Walk farther and 2) Do more reps.
The other reason I am on a plateau is largely due to attitude. I think when I reached the mark of losing 150 pounds combined with the holidays I sort of put it on the back burner. Not saying I gave up, but I feel more like I just got out of the routine of thinking about it and writing about it. I started posting articles here about health and fitness which granted are important but, I stopped writing about my personal journey. So this is my third goal, to begin writing and soon recording videos about my journey to a happier and healthier lifestyle. (Again, on Oldmanblurts YouTube , How’s that for a double plug? LOL) I’m sure once I begin doing these three simple things I will again see results. Hey, losing 150 pounds so far is no place to stop. I CAN and WILL do it! I know I’m succeeding because I am not gaining weight so the lifestyle changes I have made have helped tremendously! It is just time to get my butt back into gear, crank it up a notch and focus!
We can do it together! Remember, YOU ARE NOT ALONE! I am more than happy to give you the support you need to succeed and doing so will in turn help me. God will make it happen for us, I have faith in Him! He has been there for me through so many difficult times and I will share them with you in hope to lead us both to salvation from our troubles here on earth and to ultimately His Kingdom.
