Blurt: Homemade Salt Substitute Recipe

One of the main things I try to avoid in my diet is adding additional salt. High salt intake has been linked to many health problems including obesity, hypertension (high blood pressure), heart problems, cancer, osteoporosis, Ménière’s disease, asthma, and kidney disease.  I use pepper and other spices to add flavor to my meals. Here is an easy and delicious recipe for a salt substitute.

 Homemade Salt Substitute

 Mix together and store in a spice jar:

2 Tbsp onion powder
1 Tbsp dry mustard 
1 Tbsp paprika
2 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp thyme
1 tsp white pepper
1/2 tsp celery seed
