Blueberry Crumble Smoothie {Recipe}

Posted Aug 22 2012 7:11am

Smoothies are one of my favorite breakfast choices! While I drink them year-round, I especially enjoy them in the summer when it’s warmer outside. There’s something so refreshing about drinking a smoothie to start the day, don’t you think?!

When I started thinking about this recipe, blueberries were on sale at my grocery store. Finding a way to enjoy fresh fruits is even more fun when you are also saving money!

The blueberries immediately made me think of sweets: blueberry pie, blueberry muffins, blueberry coffeecake, blueberry grunts. I wanted to create a smoothie that had that same feeling, while still being nutritious and filling enough to get me through the morning.

That’s how the concept for this Blueberry Crumble Smoothie was born! It took me a few tries to get the flavors right, but trial and error was delicious and fun!There’s nothing worse than getting hungry hours before lunchtime, in my opinion.
