Blog Makeover!

Posted Sep 03 2011 8:05pm

It’s makeover time! Remember when you were younger and a “makeover” meant having one of your best girlfriends dig out her fold-out makeup bin including crumbling eyeshadows, crazy shades of lipstick and glitter eyeliner, for an all-over  beauty regime? Well, I remember those days. I was so jealous of my girlfriends that had huge makeup sets while I clung to my collection of Mom’s hand-me-down gift-with-purchase-freebies that didn’t suit her color palate. :::Sigh::: And I certainly never thought that in my mid twenties I would wear less makeup then when I was in high school. But I guess we can’t plan for everything!

What I did have made-over this weekend was more work than scrubbing off green glitter eyeliner, that’s for sure. ;) In fact, after all my research and reading up on making the blogger to self-hosted wordpress transfer, I decided to ask for a little help. I shopped around and came across a site that offered really competitive rates for quality service. So I splurged and hired some help.

Blog Genie is a fabulous company that helps with blog design and maintenance, blog transfers, custom design and so much more! I’m so glad I didn’t tackle this myself because between work, school and scrubbing off glitter eyeliner (heh, okay so not really) life has been crazy lately. I highly recommend Rita @ Blog Genie  to anyone who is looking for a lil blog makeover action! She has a very personal touch and in my honest opinion she over-extended herself with answering my questions and helping me figure out the new wordpress territory.

I’m sure there will still be lots of changes in the future, but that’s what I like about blogging to be honest with you all. It’s a learning curve and a growing process. My main reasons to switching to self-hosted wordpress included having more customization options, a better comment system, and a more professional look. Here are some fabulous sources I read up on for making the switch.

But everyone is different, and the Blogger platform suited me just fine for the time I used it. In fact, it’s very easy to use and navigate. My new territory is going to take some getting used to, but google search is definitely my friend.

This weekend is a whirlwind but I’m trying to pack in as much work and fun as possible! I might do a bit of baking, so stay tuned!

If you are up for it, leave me a little feedback. What do you think of the new look?

~Peace, Love & Veggies xo
