I’m taking part in Bliss Connect’s 6 Weeks of Bliss challenge and I’ve decided to share 5 facts about me that you may not know. It’s supposed to be quirky facts, but I think you’ll like these facts better! Get ready for some flashback photos.
I bet you didn’t know…
1. I am an only child and I’ve never met my biological father. I am more than okay with that because I have the best mother/friend in the world.
2. I used to be really hardcore despite my current like and interests.
I rode quads through mud…
drove my jeep through mud bogs…
(The left is mine. That was fun to clean.)
hike….
(on our way to the trail….rest in peace Jay!)
and party in the woods with bonfires.
(Helllooo Kristina ! Remember this one?)
3. I used to snowboard. I like to say that having surgery on each of my hips is why I stopped , but it’s really because I am just a big baby and completely scared of face planting and/or losing a limb.
(Oh, by the way, is anyone in the market for a snowboard, bindings, and boots?)
4. I always wanted a dog and I never had one. My mom said the closest thing I’d have to a dog was dog-sitting my Uncle’s dog, Dallas (rest in peace!).
So, when I graduated high school I took it upon myself to buy a dog and surprise my mom.
One long screaming match and 2 weeks later, she had found a nice family to sell the hot dog to. I did get to celebrate my 18th birthday with him, though. Rocking Hollister, clearly.
5. I’ve lived in 5 apartments in either NYC or Hoboken, NJ since I moved out to this area in 2005. I’ve since moved out to the ‘burbs with Joe. My first real apartment was on the lower east side in NYC and it was basically the size of my current living room.
(the ‘dining room’ and kitchen)
(750 sq. ft. shared by Jill, Lanna, and Claire)
Oh, and my bedroom? I had a loft bed (custom built) and my desk and drawers were underneath. That was basically all the space I had.
Fun times. My favorite apartment though, was the one in Hoboken, New Jersey, where I had 3 closets in my bedroom. Complete opposite of NYC living, huh!?
…just for kicks, I’m throwing in some extra ones for you guys.
6. I’ve seen (I forget how many) a lot of Dave Matthews Band shows. Come to think of it, I barely remember the shows either.
(I’m already regretting this picture, but sometimes you just need to poke fun at yourself.)
7. Lasik surgery was the best $5,000 spent in my life.
(that’s my ‘I don’t want to smile’ smile.)
8. I am a Giants fan at heart. I rarely talk about sports on the blog, but I’ve like the Giants since I was little because my grandfather always rooted for them. A few years back, every Sunday was a Sunday Funday and we’d spent hours bar hopping and watching the football games.
..and honestly, I have no words for this last picture but I had to post it because I found it while searching through old photos and just about died. My college roommates and I used to walk around NYC late night and just do stupid things. This came of it.
I am meant to run a marathon someday.
