Friday was my birthday and I made sure to milk it all weekend! To start off my birthday, Masey and I took about a 1 mile walk up to Starbucks. I really wish that I did this every morning (the walk, not the Starbucks), in fact it was one of my goals , but sometimes sleep wins out.
After my walk I had to head to work until about 1pm. Then the fun started! I picked up Kim and Justin from the airport, dropped Justin off at the house and then Kim and I got manicures and I got the best eyebrow wax that I have ever gotten in my life! After getting pampered we popped the bubbly and got the party started!
We drank champagne until Tony got home and it was time to eat. For dinner we headed to an amazing local restaurant, Two Urban Licks . It came highly recommended by several people, so I was pumped to try it! Unfortunately I don’t have any pictures because I lost my memory card and the restaurant was too dark for my iPhone (which is what the pictures are taken with above). There were 6 of us at the table and we started off with 3 appetizers, and for my meal I ordered scallops with gouda grits. It was amazing. If you are ever in Atlanta I highly recommend Two Urban Licks !
Saturday I ran a couple errands and then Tony, Kim, Justin and I headed to Uncle Julio’s for lunch and we may have enjoyed a swirl… or three. Hey! It was my birthday weekend, after all!
Once lunch was over everyone else took a nap and I headed out to spend a couple gift cards that were burning a hole in my pocket.
I have the patience of a 5 year old. My amazing husband gave me a gift certificate for an iPad (!!!) and I couldn’t wait to get it! However, rumor has it that the new iPad 3 is coming out Wednesday, so I am actually going to return it and get the new one if that does in fact happen. Luckily Apple has a 14 day return policy. Holler! My SIL and family were so thoughtful and got me a gift card to Lululemon, I was hoping to find something green for my upcoming St. Patties day race , but unfortunately that is not a March color for them. Bummer! I’m sure I will manage to find away to spend it .
Saturday night we headed out and celebrated another birthday! Our friend Jamie turned the big 3-0!
Lucky for us a bunch of friends from Chapel Hill came and surprised him! It was SO nice to see some familiar faces!
GAH! I’ve missed this crew ! Unfortunately not the whole crew was able to make it, but it was nice to see a big chunk of them!
Jamie gave up desserts for Lent, so Instead of a birthday cake, Allison made the cutest mustache cake balls for everyone else to enjoy. Not only were they delicious, but they were fun!
Apparently I don’t know where a mustache goes. I also don’t know how to pick out make-up. I grabbed the wrong color which is why my face looks like a ghost. Luckily Sephora also takes returns!
The birthday celebrations didn’t stop there! Sunday we had one more very important birthday to celebrate… Sloane!
