In true pregnancy-style, I didn’t stop there and had the waitress add sausage and scrambled eggs.
After all, the baby needed protein, right?
Needless to say, I am now completely and utterly stuffed (which should last for about another two hours until I am ravenous again).
It definitely wasn’t the healthiest breakfast, but it’s nothing that a green smoothie and lots of veggies can’t fix.
Speaking of healthy foods…
I’ve been telling Jenny to try quinoa for about a year now, but she kept saying that it scared her.
In my opinion, this is totally understandable given its weird name and the fact that it isn’t as mainstream as something similar looking like rice or couscous.
Anyway, I was really happy (and surprised!) when I received a text from Jenny the other afternoon letting me know that she made quinoa and loved it!
She sent me a photo of the quinoa dish (which served as evidence that she really made it). The quinoa was mixed with apples, greens, Gouda cheese, and sherry vinaigrette dressing.
It sounds delicious. I need to try this for myself soon!
By the way, I’m pleased to report that Jenny is officially over her fear of quinoa.
Is there a food that you’re hesitant to try even though you know it is good for you? I just cannot stomach the thought of eating sardines- no matter how many healthy benefits they supposedly deliver. They just look gross!
