Behind the Scenes of Success

Posted Aug 23 2008 9:13pm

For the past few weeks, I have been going through so many growing pains. I have learned so much about that I don’t know where to begin, or whether or not this will all make sense. But here it goes…

I have realized that “success” is so hard to achieve… in the beginning. Pushing through your comfort zones is probably the biggest task that you have to overcome in order for “success” to be sustainable. Who you are is not going to get you to where you want to be, because if it did, you’d already be there.

Generally speaking, when you create a goal, you have to become someone else in order to obtain it. You have to push through your comfort zones in order to get what you want. What I mean by this is that you have to create things in your life that you didn’t have before: patience, discipline, focus, trust, clarity, energy, whatever…

One thing that has really helped me in the past few weeks has been support! They say that behind every great man is a great woman. Or behind a great leader is a great team. Whatever it is, you need it. Napoleon Hill calls it “The Master Mind”. I call it “The Energy Spark”. What it all entails is a group of people, or even one person, who will hold you accountable to your goals. Someone who can keep you focused and give you energy to push through your barriers.

I’m not necessarily talking about friends or family. In my experience, those people tend to tell you what you want to hear and comfort you when your down. Some some cases, they may tell you to give up or slow you down.

What I’m talking about is having someone keeping you in check, letting you know how you work and supporting you in effective ways for you to get the job done! These people are the support to your foundation of success. They tell you how it is and give you perspective when you’re not on track. They’re there to let you know when to slow down, and when to speed up. They are there to kick you in the rear to get you to move. They are part of the keys to “success”.

I’m fortunate enough to have many supports. Some are just there to listen, others give me advice. But all in all, I have my ”Foundation of Reason” whenever I’m sabotaging my momentum. And this post is for them! Thank you for helping me through my tough times. I’m looking forward to having more, and sharing the stories of hardship and success with you down the line.

If you find that you’re struggling with your path, find these people! Decide today to create that support for success!
