You may or may not have noticed that I didn’t blog at all last week.  I had a very good reason for that though.

I was lazy.

No fun or exciting excuses…just laziness.   And yesterday was my birthday, so I think that is a very valid excuse. :)

I was really lucky that my birthday fell on a Sunday because I got an entire birthday weekend!

Michael took me shopping on Saturday and to dinner that night.  We went to my favorite restaurant in Charlotte called Sullivan’s.

On my actual birthday, we met my parents at the Original Pancake House for breakfast where I ordered an egg white veggie omelet that was the size of my head, some turkey sausage, and a short stack of pancakes.  I definitely brought my appetite.

Later in the day, Michael and I took a fun drive through the countryside, lunched at a quaint little restaurant called Rippington’s, and cooked chicken kabobs for dinner.  After dinner,  we watched Steel Magnolias (which I can never watch without crying) while I ate some Almond Dream vanilla ice cream.

It was the perfect birthday!

By the way,  if you’re curious, check out last year’s post on what it was like growing up with a birthday on April Fool’s Day.

Anyway, I am back to blogging today and want to spotlight an excellent brand that I recently discovered called Sibu Beauty.

Sibu Beauty’s entire product line is based off a super fruit called the sea buckthorn berry.   The line is also 100% natural, USDA Certified Organic, and contains no parabens, dairy, gluten, wheat, or sodium, and it is cruelty-free.

I had actually heard rave reviews about this brand from several people and had been wanting to try it for some time, so when the company kindly sent me some of their popular Sea Buckthorn Seed Oil to try, I was ecstatic!

The oil is paraben-free and cruelty-free with no dairy, wheat, gluten, sodium, yeast or preservatives, and it is sourced through fair trade agreements with local harvesters in Tibet.

Here is a more extensive description of the oil from the company’s website:

Sea buckthorn seed oil has long been used as a topical treatment to aid in the relief of skin conditions such as eczema, acne, rosacea, burns, and wounds AND as a traditional beauty treatment to preserve youthful skin tone and texture. It is a secret remedy to fight wrinkles and age spots so you may (or may not) want to share it with your friends.

Our therapeutic grade organic seed oil will help restore damaged skin to its natural beautiful state.

  • Quick acting/readily absorbed
  • For all skin-types
  • Helps relieve Rosacea, Acne, Eczema
  • Helps diminish wrinkles/age-spots
  • Use to treat burns/wounds
  • Promotes skin recovery and healing
  • 100% CERES Organic
  • 10 ml bottle w/ dropper tip

After using it for about a month, I can tell you first hand that this oil, which retails for $15.95,  is the real deal.

You see, as fate would have it, I had two weird issues during the course of the month that allowed me the opportunity to really test out the product’s capabilities-  infected skin where my ear is pierced and painful dry cracked skin on one side of my mouth.

The infection on my ear was strange and appeared out of the blue.  I decided to apply the oil to the infected area, and after just one use, I began to see an improvement.  I couldn’t believe my eyes!  After about three days of applying the oil in the mornings and evenings,  the infection was completely gone.

Then of course, the dry mouth thing happened.  As I mentioned above, it was very painful, and it even hurt to talk (and if you know me at all, you’d realize that this means I was in constant pain).   Once again, I applied the oil morning and night- this time for just two days-  and poof!  After applying the oil, I noticed a complete improvement.

Each night before bed, I also mix two drops of this oil with my regular moisturizer (which is Kiss My Face Peaches & Cream at the moment).  I find that it has faded a couple of red marks that I have from past breakouts, and it gives me an extra boost of moisture while I sleep.

When this stuff runs out, I will absolutely order a new bottle.  In my opinion, it is a must-have in any household!

Have you ever used any products by Siby Beauty?  If so, what did you think of them?  Which ones would you recommend?  I am dying to try more of them.    In fact, I’ve heard such great things about their serum, that I’ll probably order a bottle soon.

Have a great day!

[Please note: Although I received the product above for free, I was not paid to do this review.  The opinions stated in this post are my own, true thoughts about the product.]
