Home Beauty Beauty Spotlight: Bite Beauty (& Some Blog Updates!)

Before I get into today’s post, I have a few minor blog updates to share with you…

For starters, I’ll be back to posting more recipes very soon.  I haven’t really shared a new recipe in awhile because the ones I’ve made either weren’t original creations of mine or because I’ve been making many old favorites instead.  But I’ve decided to spice things up in the kitchen and on the blog and try some brand new recipes ASAP!

Also- since I’ve been focusing so much on non-toxic beauty and personal care products, I decided to take the plunge and start covering more chemical-free household products, including cleansers, air fresheners, and candles.  I’ll probably add a new tab to the menu bar specifically dedicated to these posts as well.

Finally, I’m also going to start a new weekly series (starting today) in which I feature one non-toxic beauty brand.  Hopefully, it will introduce you to some new brands/companies and get you excited about making the switch to safer products.  I know I’m excited!  But then again, I’m sure you’ve all realized by now that I am easily excited.

OK…moving on to the first beauty spotlight- a luxurious line called Bite Beauty.

Bite is a wonderful company that specializes in lip products made without parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrances, synthetic dyes, petrochemicals, phthalates, GMOs, and triclosan.

You know, all of the nasty guys.

Their products are available at select Sephora stores across North America and

I’m a total lip gloss junky and have been searching for some new ones to add to my collection, which was pretty much wiped out when I got rid of my toxic products.

Luckily, the company was kind enough to send me two lip shines to try ($20/each), which contain moisturizing jojoba beads and resveratrol (the antioxidant found in wine).

I can honestly say that I’ll definitely be purchasing more colors when these two run out!

These glosses give off a subtle shine, but they are not horribly sticky- a rare trait for a typical gloss.  Plus, for glosses, they have pretty impressive staying power.

As for the scent, they are pretty much odor-free.  Thankfully, they don’t have any taste either.  Nothing is worse than getting a nasty taste of lip product in your mouth (well, OK…some things are worse…).

The colors that I received were Sante and Saffron.

Sante is a gorgeous coral pink- which is so on trend right now.   Here’s a swatch of the color on my hand, so you get a general idea of what the color looks like when applied.

Saffron is a sheer warm red- perfect for anyone who wants a pop of color but doesn’t want to go too bold.

Because I’m not into wearing extremely bold makeup, these were pigmented just enough for my liking.

Before I actually even applied the glosses though, I used the Whipped Cherry Fruit Scrub ($18), my new favorite lip scrub ever!

My lips have been pretty dry lately, and I was so impressed by how this scrub not only removed the dead skin and smoothed my lips but hydrated them as well.  And just like the lip shines,  the scrub also contains resveratrol to help fight free radicals.  Anti-aging benefits are always a plus, right?

I’m really looking forward to going to Sephora to see more of these products for myself.  Have you ever tried any products from the Bite Beauty line?

I hope that you enjoyed this first beauty spotlight and that it was helpful to you.  Be sure to check in for next week’s spotlight on an affordable line called Sula Beauty, and most importantly, have a great weekend!

[Please note: Although I received the products above for free, I was not paid to do this review.  The opinions stated in this post are my own, true thoughts about the products.]

This is so exciting, I love the new post idea for non toxic products. It’s so important. I’ll have to try those glosses, the colors are beautiful.

I’m sort of in a cooking rut myself….make up is a lot more fun to play with!

    Wishing you a wonderful weekend,
