I’ve been searching for a new fitness class to try and a few of these classes have popped up in my search. Of course, I became curious and went straight to google to do a little research.
According to an article I found on Health.com , A Barre class is a “ballet-inspired class designed to help students achieve a slim, strong, sculpted dancer’s body.” The class involves small pulsing movements to work the core and legs. The class also uses weights, yoga straps, etc to add some toning benefits as well.
There seem to be a few different methods to the standard barre class and at some places you can pick from a variety of barre classes. Classes such as, yoga centered ones or even high energy classes. Either way, it seems the workout you get from a class like this differs from a typical fitness class.
Because you’re exercising in more of a ballett, dancer way, it seems you will be working to tone and balance the body. I like the sound of that for summer
Anyways, this class sounds fun! I think I’ll give it a try. I’ve found a few places in my area that offer Barre classes. Maybe I’ll try one in the coming week. I’ll let you all know how it goes!
