Barbie Workout and Holiday Spirit

Posted Nov 01 2011 1:50pm

Happy November First! Time is seriously flying by. I cannot believe it is already November and we only have two more months till the next year. Crazy!

Thanks so much to all your awesome feedback on my last post about my GI issues. I’m hoping to figure it out soon!

Something about November puts me in a great mood. I love October, but November really gets me all giddy and in the holiday spirit. Especially since in Florida the weather doesn’t really start feeling like fall till now (well, soon).

Enough Said ;) We can’t forget the cute clothes, decorating, family time, food, etc. I love it. I’m getting way to ahead of myself here!

Lets rewind to last night, shall we?

After completing 30 minutes on the elliptical and an upper body strength training routine, we came home to trick-or-treaters immediately at our door.

Moving into our new neighborhood, we weren’t sure what to expect but surprisingly there were more kids than we expected.

We still have a full bowl of candy but it seemed like the door was knocked on non stop. Luckily, it’s a bowl of almond joy which I like :) Coconut, chocolate and almond hello.

For dinner we kept it simple and started with a new to me soup that was really yummy.

All natural found at Whole Foods and gluten free. Loved it! The ginger was probably the strongest but no complaints here.

We had the soup while our meal was cooking then sat down for dinner.

Turkey Sausage and broccoli. Easy and yummy, my kind of style!

After dinner my mom and I were talking about the new On Demand we have with the Comcast TV we had installed over the weekend.

Before I even had a gym membership, I would do workouts from On Demand and loved it. I have seen many bloggers recommend certain workouts as well.

I figured it would be useful if I needed to workout at home or wanted to get in a little extra yoga, which is almost always.

This sparked up a memory of when I was younger. My best friend Sarah and I were absolutely obsessed with Barbie Workout.

Oh my gosh. I can’t even tell you how many times we did this DVD. We knew all the moves by heart and it was SO much fun!

We were really active kids and I totally miss this DVD. Not going to lie, I’d do it now if I still had it ;D

Okay, maybe not but it was awesome when I was younger. This is such a 90s video. I feel old! I didn’t even know it but one of the main girls in the video was Jennifer Love Hewitt.

Here’s a video of the DVD in case any of you remember it:

Do you remember the Barbie workout? Did you ever do it?

Favorite flavor soup?

When do you really get in the fall / holiday spirit?
