Austin for 24 Hours

Posted Mar 08 2011 7:00am

A little break from healthy living blogging…

We spent 24 hours in Austin on Saturday-Sunday and here are some pictures. We love visiting Austin, especially when the weather is perfect. We go often in the Fall for football games, but it’s really nice to go on non-football weekends to enjoy the city a little more.

Of course Lily came too. This is her new friend Dilly. Lily and Dilly.

The weather was awesome! A little cooler than we expected, but  nice to not be hot already!

Outside of the Co-op is a new banner to stand in front of and take pictures. We don’t have any similar pictures to this from real games…just kidding. Only a hundred or so. That is Dilly’s dad, Justin.

More dogs! This is Jeffrey’s cousin, Jill, and her dog, Archie. Lily had so much fun with new dogs to play with! Archie ate all of Lily’s food, but she didn’t mind because she doesn’t like it anyway.

We came to Austin to hang out with friends. These three couples live in three cities–Houston, Dallas, Austin.

We definitely ate our way through the trip. Lunch at Shady Grove, dinner at Lambert’s, dessert at Halcyon, and brunch at TNT (Tacos and Tequila).

S’mores from Halcyon in Austin. You make your own over open fire!

Siblings (Jeffrey’s sister Amy)

I promised we did more than eat. We walked around a lot, shopped a little, and saw the kite festival. Austin is so fun because it has so many activities all year long. I also saw the Chobani truck at the kite festival, and we got some more yogurt to try! I love the Chobani people and their products .
