Artisana Organics

Posted Feb 07 2012 9:42pm

It’s no secret that I am obsessed with nut butters. Being a blogger, it’s a known fact that my veins run thick with peanut butter, almond butter, and now cashew butter. While perusing the aisles for a new nut butter to slather my palate with, I came across Artisana Organics products.  I was immediately drawn in by the pistachio butter label. I contacted the company, and Jaisan saved the day by sending me some samples to try.

This immediately set me up for success with a snack night. I got two boxes of my favorite crackers..yes two. There was no way I was going to risk running out of crackers with all the nut butters I had on deck.

Along with the crackers I had some sharp cheddar cheese, toscano cheese with an espresso rind, guacamole with tomato, a bagel, and some strawberries. Let the tasting begin.

Each and every one of these products are made with the nut on the label…that’s it. No fillers or additives, not even an oil base. Plain and simple nut butter. With that said, each product tasted just like I was eating a handful of nuts, only in a buttery spreadable form. Eating a sandwich with a spread is MUCH easier than putting whole nuts between a piece of bread. I tried each spread with each side item to find which I thought paired together the best.

  • Pecan and macadamia butter were the best with the crackers.
  • Walnut butter was best with the cheddar cheese.
  • Cashew butter was best with the bagel (or by itself..this one was delicious!)
  • Almond butter was good with everything.
  • Coconut butter was AMAZING with strawberries..and with a brownie!

My favorite two were the cashew butter, because of flavor and it was amazingly creamy, and the coconut butter. I must say I was not sold on the coconut butter at first taste, but Manfriend had the brilliant idea of putting some on the strawberries. It was love at second taste and was a reoccuring event at the next mornings breakfast.

The coconut butter is like a pillow of clouds that crumbled onto my plate of fruit. Deliciously fluffy flavor.

Manfriend enjoyed the walnut butter and the coconut butter the most, but had no hesitation finishing off each packet for a lunch time snack the next day. These samples stood no chance in our world.

I still have yet to try my pistachio butter. After revisiting the store I first saw this product at, I have discovered they no longer carry it! For now I will happily dive my tongue into a giant jar of cashew butter to switch it up from the everyday peanut butter. This product is a MUST for nut butter lovers! Do yourself a favor, and go buy some cashew butter for your tongue, and coconut butter for your strawbs.

Q: Have you ventured out of the traditional peanut butter group to a new butter world?
