I'd be lying if I said I wasn't just a little bit worried about being sick and having Goofy in just 10 days. The worst of my cold is definitely over but I'm left with this nagging cough that won't go away. Is it the worst cough I've had? Definitely not. It didn't actually even bug me when I was out on my last run. But, it keeps me awake at night and is pretty insistent. Last night I was awake in bed until 5:00 am before my chest finally settled down and I could fall sleep. Not cool when your first marathon is less than 2 weeks away.
I planned to go to the walk-in clinic this morning but was dreading doing so with both of the boys in tow. When Hubs woke up and saw that I was still awake he offered to stay home this morning so I could go to the clinic without the kids. I was soooo thankful. Maybe my mind was put at ease and that's why I finally fell asleep.
Anyhow, so off I went as soon as the clinic opened this morning. The good news is, it doesn't seem to be any kind of infection or in need of antibiotics. The bad news is that all we can really do then is let it run it's course. He gave me an inhaler to help out and also codeine which apparently can help a dry cough.
He also didn't seem very worried but said that if by Monday I was still feeling crappy to come back and he'd try to work some magic. Phew!
So anyway, until then I'll cough my way along and get my last few training runs done. I'd love to go down and run with Run Club tonight but I'm not sure that Hubs will be able to get home in time considering he was home this morning. It will probably be a treadmill night for me.
And a packing night. I am super nervous about remembering everything so I wanted to start my packing now and add things as I think of them. I'm going to start by finishing the detailed list I started making last night. Does anyone know of any good runDisney packing lists or anything like that I could compare against?
