I’ve briefly mentioned once that, because it was the model home in our neighborhood, our house was already completely furnished and decorated when Michael and I moved into it two years ago.

This was completely and utterly awesome for a few reasons:

  • There was little set-up/unpacking to do when we moved in, and we were able to get settled in nearly right away.
  • My house is basically professionally decorated in a way that I could never have done on my own.
  • We didn’t have to go furniture shopping- although we did buy ourselves a new bed and the nursery furniture.
(Side note:  I’ll be posting final nursery pics next week.)

The only downside is that I’ve had to make a conscious effort to add our own personal touches to the house.  When we first moved in, I didn’t change a thing.  I guess that I was nervous about messing up the decorator’s hard work.  But within no time at all, I began moving things around, adding our own photos, and even donating some of the furniture and decorations.

I absolutely love decorating our home and making it feel comfortable and personal.

That’s why I was really excited when SITS gave me the opportunity to receive and review some Alphabet Photography artwork.

Chances are that you’ve seen this artwork somewhere already, but if you’re not familiar with it, here’s how it works…

To customize your own piece,  you choose a name or word, and a library of over 1000 images will spell out the word for you.

Michael and I decided to use our last name (Turner) and had a lot of fun picking out the letters from the library.  Our tastes are pretty traditional, but there all also plenty of options for someone who might prefer something a little more modern looking.

I absolutely love the way the picture looks on our living room wall, especially since all of the other wall hangings in the room came with the house.

Alphabet Photography would make a great joint Christmas gift for parents or grandparents and an awesome present for something like an anniversary or graduation.

By the way, the pieces come beautifully wrapped with a pretty bow which might be important to you if you are a sucker for packaging like me.

Anyway, the pictures aren’t super duper inexpensive at about $169.95 each, but they are definitely something to consider if you are looking for a bigger, special, meaningful gift for someone.

Oh and if your husband/significant other is easily entertained, they will have fun plugging silly words  into the generator like a 12-year old boy.  Yes, I’m speaking from experience…

What are some of your favorite ways to make your house feel personal and homey?

Have you ever seen Alphabet Photography?

Have a great day!

[Please note:  The perfect customized gift that includes photographs from all over the world, this is the original Alphabet Photography. Celebrity owners include: Prince Charles, Prince William and Kate, Tyra Banks, Ryan Seacrest, Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, John Schneider, Nelly Furtado, and many more!

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Alphabet Photography. The opinions and text are all mine.]

  1. Love It – What a Great Gift Idea! I have decorated my home with my own landscape photography. I have not figured out my signature, so when people visit our home they ask who the photographer is. Adds a little mystery and some day will have to figure out how to sign my work – ha! I will have to check this out because I love the last name idea and for a keepsake not too bad of a price either. Happy Tuesday:)
