Activia 14 Day Challenge - Day Ten

Posted Mar 02 2011 4:10pm
Evening all, hope everyone is well! I have another Activia foody post in store, I'm on day 10 now of the 14 day TLC plan. I'll be quite sad when this is over, I'm really enjoying it.

I started the day with a toasted wholemeal bagel topped with Whole Earth crunchy peanut butter and jam
I got to open a new jar of jam!! *simple things*

One of the jams I got on my trip to Cornwall last autumn. I bought many MANY jams that week... I am a bit of a jam fiend :D

I also had a 'nana

And a natural Activia yog

Peanut butter on toast/bagel is the breakfast that keeps me the fullest by far! It was hours before I needed my morning snackies, I had two of my homemade sultana, hazelnut and oat biccies

And my daily two brazil nuts.

Lunch was an Activia recipe of Morroccan Style Couscous salad

  • 75g raw couscous
  • ½ small can chick peas
  • ½ green pepper
  • 1tbsp raisins
  • 2 dried apricots
  • handful of fresh coriander
  • lemon juice
  • 1tbsp olive oil

Make up 75g of raw couscous according to the instructions on the packet. Mix it with half a small can of drained chick peas, half a chopped green pepper, 1 tbsp of raisins, 2 chopped dried apricots, a handful of fresh coriander, lemon juice and 1 tbsp of olive oil.

I had high hopes for this because of the lovely unusual ingredients - but it was fairly bland. Not sweet enough, no spice and no real depth of flavour. You win some, you lose some!

I also had two Ryvitas

And some cherry toms

Before my walk home from work I had a handful of raisins, cranberries & mixed seeds.

Before my workout I had two pieces of my Raw Chocolate & Granola Bark. I keep raving about this stuff, but I seriously can't get enough of it! I posted the basic recipe here , the original recipe is from Ani Phyo's book (I can't wait to make more from this book, it all looks fab!!)

Post Insanity , I made a Red Berry Smoothie using the recipe in a recent Body Fit Magazine pull out
Body Fit = my favourite magazine, fact!

200ml chilled skimmed milk
2 tbsp low fat natural yog (I used Activia Pouring yogurt)
1 tsp clear honey (I used Sweet Freedom)
80g berry fruits (I used strawberries)

I also added a tablespoon of ground flax.

My evening meal was Broccoli and Walnut Tagliatelle, recipe from Activia
  • 75g tagliatelle (I used fresh spinach taliatelle)
  • Broccoli florets
  • 4tbsp low-fat soft cheese with garlic and herbs
  • 6 walnut halves
  • Salad

Cook 75g of tagliatelle according to the instructions on the packet, then drain. Steam a handful of broccoli florets. Mix the tagliatelle and broccoli with 4 tbsp of low-fat soft cheese with garlic and herbs, and 6 crushed walnut halves. Heat for 2-3 minutes and serve with a salad.

I enjoyed the flavours of this - I very rarely have cream cheese so it was a nice change for me. The broccoli tasted so fresh and 'green' and the walnuts were lovely. This meal was a bit light though so could benefit from a bit of bread or extra veggies.

For pudding, I had an Activia Vanilla Intensely Creamy yog topped with Raw Chocolate mulberries

Delicious! If you've not checked out raw choc goodies YOU MUST!

And now, I am relaxing with Masterchef and a tiramisu flavoured black coffee :)

See you again tomorrow!!

P.S Thanks girls for the IBS tips :)
