Activia 14 Day Challenge - Day Five

Posted Feb 25 2011 5:16pm
Hello all, here's what I've been scoffing on Day Five of my Activia TLC Plan!

Breakfast was a new recipe for me this week, from Activia of COURSE
Toasted Homemade Muesli with Blueberries & Pouring Yogurt

  • 25g Brazil nuts
  • 25g hazelnuts
  • 200g jumbo oats
  • 25g sunflower seeds
  • 1tbsp honey
  • 200g pack blueberries
  • 4 x 130g Activia Vanilla Pouring Yogurt

Heat the oven to 200°C/gas mark 6. Roughly chop 25g each of chopped Brazil nuts and hazelnuts, then mix with 200g of jumbo oats, 25g of sunflower seeds and 1 tbsp of honey. Spread onto a baking tray and bake for around 10 minutes until toasted. Divide the mixture into four bowls and top each with a handful of blueberries and one serving of Activia Vanilla Pouring Yogurt.

I love home made cereals, so this was right up my street. This was a cross between muesli and granola and I loved all the nuts. I'm enjoying the pouring yogurt too, especially as it's the natural variety rather than the flavoured ones which I might find too sugary and sweet.

Mid morning snackies was another Activia recipe idea, Oatcakes and Brie

Serve 2 oatcakes with a 25g piece of brie

I LOVE oatcakes and should really remember to have them more often. They were so nice with a little bit of brie on top, quite a different snack for me and something I'll try again.

I also had an Intensely Creamy Actvia yog

Lunch, was of course, and Activia recipe, Hummus, Pitta and veggies

  • 1/2 green pepper (I didn't have any so had a carrot instead)
  • ½ large tub of hummus
  • 8 cherry tomatoes
  • 1 wholemeal pitta

Chop 1/2 green pepper into sticks and serve with a 1/2 large tub of hummus, 8 cherry tomatoes and 1 warmed wholemeal pitta.

Yummy, I love hummus and veg. And I enjoyed the pitta too. If I had time, I would always normally make my own hummus though.

I also had an apple

Mid afternoon I got a bit peckish so had a bag of my home made nut mix containing roasted macadamias, almonds, cashews and dried cranberries.

Pre workout, I fueled up on (predictably) 3 frozen dates and a pot of red grapes

I also fancied a chocolate fix so had a mini square of dark choccy

Hello man hands!

After my workout I had a green monster

In the mix today was 1 tablespoon ground flax, 1 tablespoon of my home made coconut butter (which has gone really hard in the cupboard, annoying!), 1 banana, a cup of Activia Natural Pouring Yogurt, some water and a tablespoon coconut oil.

While cooking my evening meal, I was a bit of a rebel and had a small glass of red wine

Evening meal came courtesy of Activia

Beef Noodle stir fry

  • 1 layer rice noodles
  • 2tsp sunflower oil (I used coconut oil)
  • 140g lean beef (I decided to use minced beef as I'd seen Ken Hom do this! It was lovely actually)
  • 1tsp Chinese five spice powder
  • ½ pack ready-prepared stir fry veg
  • 1tbsp reduced-salt soy sauce

Cook 1 layer of rice noodles, according to the instructions on the packet, then drain and set aside. While the noodles are cooking, heat 2 tsp of sunflower oil in a non-stick frying pan or wok. Cut 140g lean beef into thin strips and add to the pan with 1 tsp of Chinese five spice powder. Fry for around 3-4 minutes until the beef is cooked. Add ½ a pack of ready-prepared stir-fry veg and fry for another 3-4 minutes, until the veg are soft. Then add 1 tbsp of reduced-salt soy sauce and the noodles and toss together. Serve immediately.

I love stir fries, and this was really tasty. And quick to cook too.

For pudding, yet another Activia recipe idea, Strawberries with Dark Chocolate

I used lavender dark chocolate this time, which was of course gorgeous!

More tasty food to come tomorrow, including a full english breakfast!! Hubby is looking forward to this! :D

P.S Before I go, check out the package of beauty goodies I received to review yesterday

Can't wait to start using them, they are seriously premium stuff!
