Home Accessories and Style Accessorizing & healthy eats from the week (9/21)

9 comments Sep 21/12 Accessories and Style, Healthy eats from the week

I’m really into accessorizing lately.

It’s probably because I’m completely sick and tired of my maternity clothes, and accessories are a great way to make wearing them a bit more enjoyable.

I’ve found really great pieces on eBay, etsy, and at Target, and just recently, my parents bought these pretty bracelets for me when they were in Italy.

My favorite local shop for purchasing my jewelry is called The Jewel Box.  Ever since I moved to Charlotte, I’ve been obsessed.

Whenever my friends from New York come down here to visit, they always go crazy in there (I’m talking to you, Michelle!).

Right now, anyone who “likes” their Facebook page can get a free pair of earrings.  Unfortunately, I think this is limited to those living in the Charlotte area.

I picked mine up already, and I just thought I’d spread the word! :)

(By the way, I was not compensated or sponsored in any way for this post. I’m truly a huge fan of the store.)

Moving on from accessories to food…

Here are some of my healthy eats from this week!

Healthy eats from the week

Veggie omelet with a side of pineapple

Cocktail shrimp (even if the sauce isn’t the healthiest…)

Baked Mediterranean chicken

Salad with roasted veggies and tofu

Tofu stir fry

Grass Skirt Smoothie made with coconut milk & kale

Caramelized onion, red pepper, & zucchini frittata with sprouted whole wheat & rye toast

Greek yogurt with mango chunks, kiwi, strawberries, and flaxseed

Salad with oven roasted chicken

Gluten-free chicken chili with white beans, sweet potato, and lime

Where do you usually purchase your jewelry? Do you have a local boutique near you that sells unique pieces?

What are your favorite kinds of accessories?  I’m really into big statement necklaces and bracelets lately, and I also love scarves.  They are such a great way to make a plain t-shirt look stylish.

I’ll be checking in tomorrow for my weekly round-up.

Have a great day!

  1. We need to meet up at the Jewel Box sometime soon. I love it too and haven’t been there in a while!

  2. I’m on a jewelry kick lately too!! Ahh I love it. The bracelets your parents brought you from Italy are BEAUTIFUL. And P.S. let’s definitely do a Charlotte blogger meet-up before I leave!!!!

    • Thank you! My parents thought that the bracelets were very “me”. :) Yes! Let’s definitely meet up. I’m always around, so just shoot me an email, if you have time to get together. :)

  3. Love accessories – especially necklaces:) I have been looking at purses lately and shoes (boy can those get pricey). Your bracelets look like they would go with anything – love that! Happy Friday:)

    • I love purses too! You can find some good deals on , , and Overstock sometimes. The bracelets really do go with everything which is awesome. Happy Friday to you too! :)

  4. Ha before I even saw your shout-out, I was all ready to comment YAY JEWEL BOX!! Haha, I’m so envious you have that store, though I’d surely have a lot less money in my wallet if I did :)

    • LOL. You’re an animal in that store!!! You can order online, but the selection isn’t as good as it is in the store, in my opinion. It’s probably just as well though! ;)
