Last weekend we met up with our friends Stephanie and John for dinner. Stephanie, from Stephanie Cooks , is a long time friend of mine and she’s pregnant! She’s so cute!
We went to Maggiano’s which is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is simply amazing and the deals they have are ridiculous- I honestly don’t know how they stay in business with such great prices! You can order a la carte or family style. We went family style but if you order a la carte, you get your meal of course but they give you a second meal to take home. So you get two for the price of one- how sick is that?! Plus the family style has a free refill policy. So if you finish a platter, they’ll just bring you more!
We went with the “Classic” family style which includes 2 appetizers, 2 salads, 4 entrees, and 2 desserts. AKA a whole lotta food!
To start we chose our appetizers and went with Spinach and Artichoke Al Forno and Fried Calamari…
I don’t eat calamari, but Pete loves getting it here and thinks it’s great. Says it’s one of the best dishes he’s ever had. The spinach dip is equally delicious!
Salads were brought out the same time as the appetizers. We ordered Caesar and Italian Tossed.
I find their Casear to be hit or miss. I’ve gone there and had an amazing salad but other times it was just bla. Last night however it was perfecto. I didn’t try the Italian Tossed salad but Pete says it was a “revelation.”
With family style you get four choices for dinner. I just had to go with the Raviolis. I get them every time I go- I live for these raviolis! They have a pesto alfredo sauce which is unlike anything I’ve ever tasted. To die for!
The other three dinners were Chicken & Truffle Tortellacci, Chicken Saltimbocca, and Parmesan Crusted Tilapia.
I didn’t try the chicken or fish, but the Chicken and Truffle dish was delightful. It was new to the menu and I’m really glad we tried it.
Last but not least dessert of course…
Nonna’s Pound Cake and Warm Apple Crostada. How could you go wrong?
Great night with friends and amazing food!
The best part is we had plenty of leftovers to enjoy the next day. Since they keep refilling your platters, you can just wrap everything up!
Plus, they bought us a lovely engagement present.
