A Week Of Beautiful

Posted Aug 19 2010 3:03pm

I heard a song on the radio today that reminded me of  Caitlin’s Operation Beautiful. This text is taken directly from her site, “The mission of Operation Beautiful is to post anonymous notes in public places for other women to find. The point is that WE ARE ALL BEAUTIFUL. You are enough… just the way you are!”
I’ve heard a lot about Operation Beautiful lately. Caitlin’s book Operation Beautiful: Transforming the Way You See Yourself One Post-It Note at a Time is all over the healthy living blog community, and it was on TV too. I decided to download it on my Kindle for Android app today.

This song reminded me of Operation Beautiful. It may be the sweetest song I’ve heard in a long time.
My first thought was, “I bet every woman wants someone to think of her in this way”….

And then I realized I don’t even think of MYSELF that way. Hmmm. How many women don’t think of themselves this way? It’s so sad. And I’m part of the problem. I partake in “fat talk” as Caitlin calls it. And I do it often.

For one week, I’m going to pick one thing about me that I like just the way I am. This is going to be hard, because I can’t think of 7 right now. But I’ll try to appreciate the me that God made this week, and see what I can come up with.

I challenge everyone to do the same!!

Maybe  not publicly, maybe just on your own. Pick out a different part of you that you LOVE every day this week. Every day. Don’t slack. Maybe you should write a post-it on your own mirror to remind you that you are beautiful, just the way you are :)

One week of Beautiful starts…. NOW!

Today, I love my eyes.

I have big brown almond shaped eyes. I can’t figure out whether I got them from my mom or my dad, but thank you both for my beautiful brown eyes :)
I love them because they are always smiling. Someday I will have crows feet because my eyes smile as much as I do. And I’ll try to be okay with that testament to the fact that I’ve lived a happy life.
