A Treadmill Workout & ARIZONA

Posted Dec 30 2011 1:00pm
I made the choice to run inside.  No, there wasn't snow on the ground; it was even in the 40's, but I didn't want to fight the +25 mph winds.  I chose the treadmill.

Coach & I headed to the athletic weight room to get our sweat on. I was feeling lethargic and would've opted for the couch if we hadn't planned on working out the night before.

I knew once I got going, I'd pick up momentum and remember why exercising makes me a better person.  Thank you endorphins!  I ran 2 miles at a comfortable pace then opted for intervals then next 3 miles. Here's the breakdown
2 miles @ Comfortable pace: 6.6-6.8 mph

.25 mi @ 7.5 mph
.25 mi @ 6.8 mph
REPEAT

.25 mi @ 8.0 mph
.25 mi @ 6.8 mph
REPEAT

.25 mi @ 7.5 mph
.25 mi @ 6.8 mph
REPEAT

Total: 5 miles.  Again, you can vary your speeds.  I know many of you are MUCH faster than me, but this was good for me.

Today, Coach and I are headed to Arizona for a vacation essentially before I lose him to baseball season. I'm the "other" woman. Sigh.

Last time I visited AZ , I got to meet up with Emz and Peanut and look forward to it again! NYE on Mill Ave anyone?

And, there's a little football bowl happening on Monday, January 2nd at 8:30 EST.  Well, Coach scored tickets to see STANFORD face OSU. This is my first bowl game, and I'm stoked to cheer on my alma mater!  GO CARDINAL!

What are your plans for New Year's Eve?!

- Normally, Coach and I are homebodies (read boring), so this will be our first real celebration!
